Transcription for "June Smith - The regeneration of Surrey Docks"

It’s amazing! It’s so clean here now. I remember it used to be filthy, there were thousands of boats coming in and out of here and it was dark, so much smoke it was grey. When the docks were finished, people started to live the area and soon there weren’t many people living in the area at all. Everyone had gone. I thought it would never been occupied again but surprisingly things are built and offices are being erected, new houses. It’s marvellous! I’m happy the docks are still here.
