(Florence is originally from Sierra Leone, Pam is the session facilitator)

Florence: Well, erm, after my life in college, I went to, I was trained as a teacher.

Pam: Ur hm…

Florence: Went into the school, to a school and taught, I was trained particularly as an infant teacher. I went and I was posted to a school. After a while I was promoted senior teacher then head teacher.

Pam: Ah.

Florence: I retired a head teacher actually.

Pam: Right. (Speaking to another participant) No I won’t have any more thanks

Florence: I retired a head teacher actually. And then as a teacher, there was that, you might have heard about it, I don’t know if you know about it, Commonwealth Bursary

Pam: Bursary, yes

Florence: I had, I obtained the Commonwealth Bursary and I travelled here. The British Council sponsored it all.

Pam: Oh did they?

Florence: Did everything, yes. Well from Commonwealth countries, not just our country.
