Description: Goan bandsmen in the first-class veranda ballroom on the SS 'Kenya' – one of the vessels at Mombasa on Sunday 16 September 1951. Goans were employed by the British in India and by the Sultans of Zanzibar in the eighteenth century as bandsmen.
