Description: This topographic model of the Royal Dockyard at Deptford dates from 1774. It was one of series of models of royal establishments commissioned by George III. The Royal Dockyard at Deptford was established during the reign of King Henry VIII, and hundreds of warships were built there until its closure in 1869.
