Description: Union-Castle liners in the East India Docks in 1902, two years after the company was formed from the merger of the Union Steamship Company and the Castle Packet Company. The Union-Castle ran regular services to South Africa. From the left, the ships are the 'Goth' (1893), 'Arundel Castle' (1894), 'Gascon' or 'Goorhka' (1897), 'Raglan Castle' (1897), 'Braemar Castle' (1898) and the 'Gaika' (1897).
