| Description: Striking dockers enter the East India Dock Road from Cotton Street during the 1923 strike. They were marching for better pay and working conditions. The employers had proposed a reduction in wages from 8s to 5s 6d for the four-hour minimum employment period. The dockers immediately went on strike, but after being out for 8 weeks were forced back to work. |
