| Description: This painting was viewed from Galleon's Point the 50-gun ship, with a bomb ketch beyond her lying at the lower end of the Woolwich Reach. Both ships fly the red ensign, and on the larger ship the crew are depicted working on deck. A small craft full of men is rowing towards the ships. A river craft is anchored in the foreground to the left, and in the foreground to the right, two figures are depicted talking over a fence. Behind them other shipping is visible and the parish church and the dockyard can be seen on the south bank upstream. |
