| Description: This watercolour is of the 'Cutty Sark', the only surviving tea clipper. She was launched in 1869 and took part in the annual tea race from China to London. Tea represented one of the main consumer goods brought to Britain from the East. The tea trade expanded rapidly during the period from 1750 until 1900. |
