Description: Various vessels on the Thames near Butler's Wharf. A steamship is berthed at the wharf, while sailing ships and barges pass in the foreground. The imposing warehouses of Butler's Wharf are clearly visible. They had been completed in 1871-73, only a decade before this picture was taken. They have survived after conversion into housing and retail space.
