Description: Deptford Power Station seen from a passenger ferry on the Thames. It was built in 1889 by Sebastian de Ferranti, engineer to the London Electric Supply Corporation. It was the world's first modern high pressure power station. Deptford station closed in 1983 and was finally demolished in 1992.
