Description: This coloured etching, dating from the beginning of the 19th century, shows London watermen in their bright working clothes plying for trade by a bridge arch. The man wearing the coat with its official waterman’s badge points out his fine wherry to potential passengers, while his friend holds off the bow of the boat.
