Title: The River Thames, frozen near Shad Thames.
Description: Although the opening of Rennie's new London Bridge in 1831 meant that the Thames could not freeze over as before, thick ice did form on the river during particularly severe winters. This 'Illustrated London News' engraving shows the ice near Shad Thames in February 1855.
