Fairbrother High Class Bakers - paper bag. Part of the Greenwich Borough Museum collection. |
Paper bags have not changed much in a hundred years. This one is also
a fine piece of advertising. Unlike today, Henry would not have thrown
his paper bag away. In 1901, a paper bag had many uses. When slit down
the sides and opened flat, it became a precious piece of paper for drawing
or writing on. Later it could be used to light the stove. Fairbrother
